Hideaway
It was washed up, abandoned. Just like I had been so very long ago.
After seven years of isolation, one might think that the sight of a boat would stop me dead in my tracks. However I rushed out to rescue my prize from the retreating tide as if it was the most natural occurrence in the world.
My prayers had been answered, only five years too late. I was comfortable on my island: self-sufficient and happy. What need was there to return to ‘civilisation’ now?
I dragged the boat back to my hideaway. Wood was always a precious commodity.
