Time for this week’s Friday Fictioneers entry. The challenge is to write a 100-word story or poem based on a weekly photo prompt chosen by our host Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. Check out her blog for more information by clicking here. Thank you to all who take the time to read, like or comment.

Ants
Heart pounding in his chest, he peered over the ledge. This would be the last time he would take in this view. It would all end today. Just one last act of courage.
He watched as the people below scurried about, consumed by the pointless tasks of their pointless lives. No more evolved than the ants in Nana’s old backyard.
Time to boil the kettle Jimmy. They’re outta control again.
He allowed himself the briefest of smiles as he studied his unsuspecting prey, one eye pressed to the scope, finger resting lightly on the trigger. It would all end today.
