Time for another Friday Fictioneers entry! In truth it’s been too long. Sometimes the only way out of a creative funk is to write something. Anything. So here it is.
The challenge, as always, is to write a 100-word story in response to a weekly photo prompt chosen by our host Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. Follow the link to her blog for more information. Thank you to all who take the time to read, like, or comment.

A meditation
You don’t have to be that person.
It’s a choice.
So choose better.
The past is dead.
The future will be born shortly.
Or not.
Who cares?
Now is happening.
And you’ll never be this young again.
Step out without holding Anxiety’s hand.
Leave Depression at home occasionally.
Time apart will do you good.
Anger, Shame, and Regret don’t make for great friends.
Have you met Joy? He seems nice.
Raise the portcullis.
Forgo armour.
(Use medieval metaphors at unexpected times.)
Laugh.
Cry.
Love.
Be loved.
Decompose the rotten parts of your soul.
Make fertiliser.
Let beauty grow from shit.
