It’s Friday Fictioneers time! The challenge is to write 100 words based on a weekly photo prompt chosen by our host Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. Check out her blog for more information by clicking here. An unusually hectic social life, university deadlines and the stress of job hunting means that I am few weeks behind reading all the stories from my fellow Fictioneers. I will try to catch up. Thank you to all who continue to take the time to read, like or comment on mine!

Always
There is always a bar.
Always a barmaid whose face I won’t remember.
Always a full wallet, a full bottle, an empty wallet, an empty bottle.
The first sip burns, like French kissing molten lava, but it’s good to feel something. Boy, you couldn’t buy that kind of warmth from a thousand whores.
I’ve had enough when my face goes numb but I don’t stop until I no longer recognise that face in the bathroom mirror: What’re you looking at pal?
Tomorrow’s another day. A clean slate. A chance to resurrect, revitalise, rejuvenate.
Failing that, there is always a bar.
