Fame – Friday Fictioneers

A seriously late Friday Fictioneers entry! I must get my act together. The challenge is to write 100 words based on a weekly photo prompt chosen by our host Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. Check out her blog for more information by clicking here. Thank you to all who take the time to read, like, or comment.

The pizza was greasy and uninviting. He chased it down with red wine, leaving lipstick traces on the glass. It would come back up soon: all part of the act.

As Travis Damien, he had been a teen sensation, but success didn’t follow him into adulthood. The albums flopped, the tours grew smaller, and the girls stopped screaming his name. Then, he created ‘Belle Eamia’.

His new persona caused outrage but brought the fans back in their droves. The problem was, he loathed her.

“Five minutes, Miss Eamia,” came the call.

His reflection smirked, victorious. Nobody called him Travis anymore.

Oh wow, poor guy. But at least he didn’t let the failure defeat him. Don’t know that I’d want to see his/her act if it involved the pizza coming back up.
