It’s Friday Fictioneers time! The challenge is to write 100 words based on a weekly photo prompt chosen by our host Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. Check out her blog for more information by clicking here. A combination of Christmas festivities and the influenza virus has me just sneaking in before the deadline this week. Thank you and Happy New Year to all who take the time to read, like or comment.

Twenty Minutes
“Mind the vomit,” I said, gesturing to the pavement.
“It was some drunk guy,” I tried. “Chucked his guts and left.”
One girl whispered something to the other. They eyed me with disgust and moved to a safe distance.
I couldn’t blame them.
I hugged my stained shirt closer. The countdown timer said the bus was twenty minutes away.
I sat for what seemed like hours; the ghost bass line still thumping in my ears and the neon lights dancing behind my eyelids. I longed for my bed.
I glanced back at the timer: the bus was twenty minutes away.
